I was excited to get started with Dr. Hoque. She was conversational and seemed super informative. I got bloodwork done which showed that I had high cholesterol. I was disappointed to get a call from Dr. Hoque's nurse who quickly told me I was prescribed a lifelong medication at the age of 30. I understand taking early precaution especially with a family history of high cholesterol, BUT I was just super disappointed that the doctor did not call me in to discuss my options instead of prescribing me a lifelong medication. I thought a conversation about taking steps in my diet to reduce my cholesterol or atleast following up with a cardiologist would have been ideal, but to prescribe a drug that remains with patients, long term without a conversation was careless.
