Dr. Han’s staff let someone else into my results appointment and didn’t figure out they were talking to the wrong person until 15 minutes in when they saw me in the waiting room. The front desk staff fed my name, birthdate, address, and other identifying information to this stranger to “confirm” her identity and then let her go back into my appointment. In addition to this privacy violation (and sheer laziness on the staff), it was clear Dr. Han is only used to helping people with sleep apnea and the only solution is either a CPAP or a oral device that will completely ruin your alignment and runs the risk of causing TMJ. She diagnosed me with sleep apnea, put me on a CPAP machine, and then said I had no other options when the CPAP was causing me panic attacks. I later independently saw a ENT who said I had a deviated septum and enlarged turbinates that could be easily corrected via surgery. After the surgery, my breathing was excellent and I slept well through the night. I went back in for a second opinion sleep study with an AMAZING doctor at Swedish and she confirmed that I had no sleep apnea whatsoever. She also said true sleep apnea is rarely resolved surgically, my previous doctor (Dr. Han) likely misdiagnosed me and did not ask the right questions to figure out what was actually going on. I cannot emphasize enough how little I trust Dr. Han after my work with her. Personally, she is a very nice and has a friendly demeanor, but that means very little if you’re not actually doing your job. The only thing I will say is that the Polyclinic does have much more comfortable arrangements for the sleep study itself. Other than that, every other part of the process was 100 times better through Swedish.
