I took my daughter in for a sore throat. While the NP (Amanda Macke) could have sent us home with antibiotics, she not only pushed me to take my daughter to the ER (to rule out a peritonsillar abscess), she made me feel like I was a bad mom for trying to ask questions because that seemed very extreme to me. So we spent over 8 hours in the ER and now have nearly $6,000 in medical bills and counting (after insurance). My daughter did not have any abscesses and the ER was confused why we were sent. They eventually sent us home with antibiotics and she was fine in a few days. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. The unnecessary extreme this NP went to is negligible. She only pushed for ER or to 'wait it out' when she clearly saw the white patches in her throat and a simple antibiotics script would have saved us time, trauma, and thousands. Shame on you.
