My wife met with Barbara Feldman for genetic counseling, and it was one of the worst healthcare experiences we’ve had. Ms. Feldman was rude, dismissive, and repeatedly questioned why my wife wasn’t on oral contraceptives, despite them being medically inappropriate for her. She pushed IVF when it wasn’t relevant and casually suggested abortion if we conceived naturally — ignoring the physical, emotional, and ethical impact this would have. Throughout the appointment, my wife’s body and reproductive health were treated like a science experiment rather than a personal and deeply important matter. We expected compassionate counseling focused on education and support, but instead left feeling disrespected and unheard. This experience was unprofessional, insensitive, and completely inappropriate for such a personal conversation.
