My brother was referred to Dr. Ari Hakimi as a top kidney-cancer surgeon, but our experience fell short. We waited nearly two hours before seeing him; the nurse and PA saw us first, and the doctor then spent under 10 minutes with us. He initially recommended removing the entire kidney, but after hearing that another physician advised a biopsy first, he changed course to biopsy-first with a possible partial nephrectomy, without clearly explaining the rationale or risks. We ultimately chose another urologic surgeon.
