Scheduled colonoscopy months in advance with multiple pre-op visits. Doctor's office failed to submit required insurance pre-authorization until the day before the procedure (which should be 5 days prior for hospital procedures) called to cancel AFTER I had already started prep and taken time off work. This is basic administrative incompetence that wasted months of planning, disrupted my work schedule, and put me through unnecessary prep for nothing. If they can't handle simple insurance requirements, how can you trust them with your medical care? Look elsewhere - there are competent gastroenterologists who actually manage their practice properly.
