This nephrologist did not provide patient education regarding renal failure treatment options. He just ordered me to in-center HD dialysis at a dialysis clinic that is only open 3 days a week. I mentioned that I would not be able to continue working. He didn’t see why not. I said that the dialysis clinic he was planning to make me use was only open 3 days a week. It would knock out three of five workdays. It was clear that Dr Tuffaha didn’t care. I’m a proactive patient who expects to have an active role in my medical care. Clearly this doctor is not comfortable with that. This doctor also sees no need to share all treatment options with the patient.
