Patient Reviews

I never review doctors but if I could sum up Dr. Verdugo up in three words it would disrespectful, contradictive, and untimely. It took my doctor 6 months just to get his office to receive the referral and then it took me five months to get in to see him. My first appointment I waited 2 hours, had to have my primary order the MRI, and his staff was rude. He was kind and explained the procedure that would give me 10 years of relief after 12 years of pain. He wanted to get more imaging done to make sure he didn’t need to do more than the one procedure. Imaging took three months for his staff to order when my primary got it done it ordered and scheduled in a week. I had my follow up with his NP Lennon Nbi who has been the best experience I have had with a covenant physician. Lennon stated I needed another surgery along with the one previously mentioned due to things being worse than we thought. He went to consult Verdugo who came back with him saying my issue was unrepairable. Then he said that my pain “shouldn’t be this bad with the deformity and there’s nothing we can do.” I tried to see if the pain could be due to an inflammatory disorder I have because my rheumatologist has explained that happens with my illness. Then Verdugo yells at me for over 5 minutes and spends another 15-20 saying the exact opposite of what he had told me previously. He made me feel hopeless, crazy, and small. I cried due to the yelling with a waiting room full of people and the hopelessness he embarked on me. His NP was wonderful, consoling, and gave me tissues while Verdugo seemed unphased and walked out of the room.
