I got a text asking to confirm my appointment for Wednesday at 9:00am. I had a work meeting come up at the hospital so on Monday I called to reschedule my appointment for 1:00 and confirmed I would be there. When I showed up to my appointment my hygienist had me verify my contact information because she said I wasn’t responding to the messages sent to me. She made a comment that she was supposed to be on her lunch break but since I hadn’t confirmed my appointment now she has to do my cleaning and couldn’t eat. I felt bad for her but the comment was unprofessional and made me uncomfortable. I tried to explain that I didn’t confirm my 9:00 appointment over text because I needed it rescheduled and called to confirm but she was still clearly irritated and said that I was just lucky someone was going to do my cleaning because they sometimes have to cancel unconfirmed appointments.
