I called the MMC office because my 5-year-old son had a 104 fever and asked if I could bring him into the office to see Dr. Andrea Branch. Upon arrival at the new Westlawn location. I was informed his insurance needed to be updated. I informed her that I did not have the insurance cards due to switching jobs. I informed her that he has two insurances from my husband and myself. Also, I called my employer while standing at the desk, and benefits stated they would overnight me the insurance card and expedite this matter, asking if they could just see my son. The receptionist told the nurse I refused to pay as self-pay and told me she would check with Dr. Branch before seeing my son. The nurse came out to the waiting room and told me Dr. Branch said if I don't pay then she won't see him, and I can take him to the ER or urgent care. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone. She did not honor the medical oath taken by doctors and put a clerical error over my son's health. Concerned Parent - March 28, 2024
