My husband and I were taking care of my best friends farm in Lyons OR. I got up in the night to check some lights that kept going on and off. I was going down a couple cement steps. I missed the steps and landed on the cement flooring. I suffered a spiral fracture of my left femur. I have a Total Knee Replacement of the same knee. I have to say, that was the worst pain I have ever experienced!The Salem Hospital was very busy in the wee morning hours. Regardless, I received excellent care in the hallway until a bed could be assigned to me. I don’t remember a lot of what happened but, I do remember not knowing if my TKR would have to be removed in order to fix the fracture. I was so fortunate that Dr. Hadeed took care of me. When I came out of surgery I had a fixed fracture and my total knee was still in place! Hallelujah! I not only had an excellent physician, I received the best care I’ve ever had in a hospital!Thank for your exceptional care.Kimberly Shepherd.
