1998 I met Dr. Janik in Palm Desert. It was my first visit to a psych DR which didn’t go well. FF a few years later and we meet again up at Hi Desert BH. There’s no possible way he’d recall me with the many patients he’s had but for my conure named Andy, he just might. I remember seeing the smile on his face when I walked in with my bird on my shoulder. From that point on he was the very best head doc I’ve ever had. I moved to OR where mental health funding is dead last. I stopped seeking treatment all together because once they have you in their control only a judge in some court house can sign you out. That terrified me! I’ll end by saying Dr Janik would never make it in OR since he treats people with mental illness as humans. The staff at both facilities was hands down the best care I ever had, and I’m saying now CA is far advanced when comparing mental health treatment options. Dr. Janik thank you for making a long lasting impact on my life; now retire already!
