I saw Dr. Wright to deal with an inguinal hernia. He fixed the hernia by covering the hole with a plastic mesh, which is a standard procedure in the USA. The mesh caused me severe chronic pain, which was so bad, I eventually needed to have the mesh removed. Dr Wright was able to remove the entire mesh, which I believe takes an incredible amount of skill. However, I question his judgement for inserting the mesh in the first place. There are alternative operations for hernias that do not involved mesh and do not have a problem with causing chronic pain. Given these safer alternatives, I have to ask why a doctor would choose to use a mesh. I do want to say that Dr. Wright was very kind in all of my appointments. I can tell he had my best interest in mind. And, again, I think he is a very skilled in the operating room. It is only his judgement that I think is questionable.
