My daughter tripped and banged her forehead on the edge of our entertainment center. Luckily she did not need stitches and only needed the cut cleaned and covered with a bandaid. The front desk and nurse were great, however, Dr. Anita Thakadiyil’s bedside manner with my 2 year old was traumatic. She was extremely physically aggressive, assertive and rushed her care with my daughter while cleaning the cut on her forehead. It was as if the doctor has not worked with children within her medical career. She gripped my daughter’s arms and head very aggressively and pinned her down onto me to clean her cut. My daughter was screaming and crying. The doctor kept screaming back at my daughter and continued to increase her volume, as if she was trying to be louder than my daughter’s cries. In all honesty, her physical aggressiveness when touching my daughter and rushed behavior was unnecessary for a simple cut cleaning. The front desk shared on the phone that there were no other patients or appointments scheduled for the remainder of the night. That was true upon our arrival. In my opinion, the doctor is very disconnected from the fact that her patients are humans, not just a task that requires a medical intervention.
