I was a patient of Dr. Carter’s back in 2023. She was my PCP and at the time I was dealing with chronic migraines so she prescribed me a triptan. When I took the prescribed medication, I began having symptom similar to that of a heart attack (elevated heart rate, shoulder pain, shortness of breathe, and more). When I brought these concerns to Dr. Carter, she gaslit me into believing that I was just having anxiety about the medication, given my past medical history of SOCIAL anxiety before. When I switched to my current PCP (because I refused to be seen by Dr. Carter after this incident), she assured me that it was a reaction beyond just anxiety. So, to make a long story short, if you are wanting a doctor that will listen to your concerns & actually try to understand what is going on, do NOT see Dr. Carter. All the will do is tell you that you are anxious, especially if you are a woman.
