I have seen Dr. Carpenter a total of 4 times and have yet to receive any pain relief of any kind. The administrative staff and nurses are absolutely wonderful and incredibly helpful. As with other doctors I have dealt with at WVU, the notes put in my file are only partially true. The only action Dr. Carpenter would take is to give me a diagnostic nerve block in my back, even though I've had 4 of them so far. I have major, untreated anxiety and mental illness which was not taken into consideration at all. Nerve blocks are one of the most painful things I've ever gone through. The first block I was scheduled for, was cancelled when I got there. After only getting 2 hours of sleep, fasting, and having to drive an hour each way, my anxiety was sky high for the second procedure. At the beginning of the procedure, I informed staff that I was having a bad time and was completely disregarded. She then got quite upset when I had a neurodivergent meltdown due to pain, fear, and anxiety
