Dr. Anthony Sur, DDS

After being referred to a specialist for a root canal on a tooth with prolonged sensitivity pain, then to an oral surgeon for that tooth to be extracted instead, I was perplexed...both are probably sound recommendations, but I was not ready to part with my tooth, which had stopped hurting (8 months now). Dr Sur specializes in situations that other dentists either can't be bothered with or can't address, especially situations that require deft hands both with the patient and in the lab. He focused on seeing if my tooth could be saved. Do I like him because he told me what I wanted to hear, or because he listened to me, took the time to explain the condition of my tooth's root canal and overall condition, and made a recommendation that did not hurry me toward a costly and invasive procedure? His approach is old-school - thorough and thoughtful problem-solving. Yes, I'd recommend Dr Sur, but I think he only takes unusual cases.
