I was so very fortunate that Dr. Carre was my reconstruction surgeon at Kaiser and that I was one of his last patients he saw before moving to City of Hope. Kind, compassionate, incredibly knowledgable, empathetic tough love when I needed it, the most personable doctor I've ever had. He even held my hand when I cried in his office. I trust him implicitly. He did amazing work, saved my nipples (the onco surgeon did not want to do that) and performed a 12 hour mastectomy that included lymphatic bypass surgery. 2 years later, despite having a large number of lymph nodes removed, I have no lymphedema and, surprisingly, have sensation in my nipples. I cannot say enough good things about him. He was my guardian angel.
