I visited with Dr. Patel Apoor back in May 9, 2022. I have a rare heart disease and I was implanted with a pacemaker defibrillator in 2019. I was referred to see an electrophysiologist since I was not feeling well and having some issues. I waited a month for my appointment. I saw Dr. Patel and his staff, and everything seemed nice. They were supposed to transfer the monitoring of my device to his care. Two and a half months later, I receive a phone call from the cardiologist that I was leaving for Dr. Patel saying I am having episodes of irregular arrhythmia. I was very confused to why that Dr. office was calling me. It turns out that Dr. Patel and his staff never sent a request to transfer my device to their care. I have called Dr. Patel office on Monday August 1, 2022 and asked for the office manager or Dr. Patel to call me so they can explain why this matter was never handled. No ONE CALLED ME. The following day Tuesday August 2,2022, I have called Methodist Hospital in Sugar Land and filled a complaint, very shortly after I received a call from the office manager. She was happy to let me know that they have now transferred my device to their care. That took them less then 15 minutes from the time that I complained. With the negligence from that Dr. office, I have decided to look for another doctor. Dr. Patel had called me back on Thursday August 4th to address the issue. He did not apologize or voice a concern about what his staff did or did not do. Furthermore, Dr. Patel had the audacity to tell me that it is ok because my previous doctor was monitoring my device. I keep getting a bill for $60 from Methodist Hospital on behalf of Dr. Patel. I called his office a couple of times and asked them to void this charge since I did not end up receiving care, but nothing was not done about it. Since than I had to look for another doctor and I incurred more doctor bills, time off work and not to mention the stress and anxiety. Very sad that this is the care from Dr. Patel and his staff.
