I was referred to Dr. Raines after a patella dislocation that sent me to the hospital. He spent less than 5 minutes in the room with me (after I waited in the room for over an hour) and painfully maneuvered my kneecap. He prescribed physical therapy and a brace. The technician then put the brace on the wrong way, further pushing my kneecap. Dr. Raines refused to do an MRI. On my two follow-ups, my husband timed one at 3 minutes 29 seconds, and another at 4 minutes 12 seconds. He told me he wanted to "proceed with treatment" since he knew "what tears" when kneecaps dislocate, despite my prior history of dislocations. I got a second opinion and an MRI. Turns out I have patella alta, trochlea dysplasia, lateral tilting of my patella, damage to the cartilage (someday that can lead to arthritis and knee replacement), and scarring on my MPFL. I've been referred for surgery now. Dr. Raines didn't give me the time of day to actually treat me. Don't bother with him.
