An abdominal ultrasound ordered by my primary care doctor showed I have many large liver cysts. This can sometimes be caused by echinococcus taking residence in the liver. As someone who spends every winter in the countryside of Mexico, I’m at risk. I sought my appointment with Dr. Nyazee for the purposes of obtaining a requisition for the blood test to determine presence of echinococcus in the liver. Dr. Nyazee claimed there was no such blood test, that echinococcus could only be present in the gut requiring a stool sample. I had wasted my time and money with an incompetent and uninformed physician! I had to go back to my primary care to finally get this blood test done.
