I went to this doctor and he told me my cholesterol was a little high, then immediately prescribed me a statin without even looking at my chart to see that I was several months pregnant and only 26 years old. My levels were not extremely high and I had no history of high cholesterol, it was only a little high due directly to my pregnancy, so there was absolutely no need for such harsh drugs. If I didn’t know any better, didn’t think to question this, and just blindly took the drugs then my baby could have died or been born with severe birth defects. Very careless on the doctor’s part. I would not recommend going to him, not only because of this dangerous experience, but also because he jumped straight to drugs instead of recommending lifestyle changes first.
