I am so confused by my experience today. I just had my follow up appointment because when I scheduled it, the office did not enter my appointment in her schedule so it had to be scheduled a second time. I wait 40 minutes for her to come to my appointment. She said I seemed frustrated, I explained to her my sleep has not improved, I was frustrated with the office for not correctly scheduling my appointment, and I have a second appointment coming up this morning that I have to get to immediately when we are done. She told me I shouldn't be frustrated with the office messing up my appointment because "I probably was going to have to come back again this month anyways". Immediately dismissing that issue. When discussing my insomnia I explain no over the counter medications have helped me and I've tried them multiple times, I explain the previous medication we tried did not help me, and the current medication helps me fall asleep for an hour before I wake again. She tells me that I am shooting her down at every turn and not letting her help me. I was simply answering her questions. I apologized, explained that is not my intention, and that I was just trying to answer her questions to get to a resolution. I agreed to go to a sleep study, increase my current medication, or try a new one if she recommends. She asks if I could take my medication earlier in the day, and I explain that I work late into the night so I am already taking it as early as I can. She told me "see right there you're doing it again and just shooting down every suggestion". After I agreed to 3 different suggestions and merely explained why the others wouldn't work for me. She took every explanation of why her suggestions wouldn't work for me extremely personally. She was rude, dismissive to my actual issues, and continuously talked down to me. She was far more interested in arguing with me and just getting a yes for everything than actually helping me with my issues. I was simply explaining why her suggestions wouldn't work for me, I honestly don't understand why she was reacting that way. I have never experienced this with a medical professional before. My first appointment she did not send my sleeping medication to the pharmacist for an entire week, which caused me to continue my lack of sleep without the care she was supposed to give me. I told her my diet and exercise habits, I don't eat fast/processed foods and work out on a regular basis. When my cholesterol came back high she said "just diet and exercise more", neglecting to consider I have 2 conditions that caused higher cholesterol. To me it is very clear she does not care about her patients.
