I saw my PCP for a yearly exam and mentioned an injury I had with my shoulder after a fall last year. He ordered an MRI but was denied by insurance, they wanted an X-ray to be done first and PT. I agreed to the X-ray but not the PT. After he got the results he suggested I see Dr. Waters. I was nervous knowing that I would probably need a cortisone injection as I am not a fan of needles. When I saw Dr. Waters she smiled as she greeted me, and made me feel more comfortable. She was pleasant, very well knowledgeable and listened to me. She sat down and showed me my X-ray and explained what she was seeing. She then had me do several movements with my arm as she examed me. She then did an ultrasound and within moments she was able to diagnose my problem. She didn’t tell me what I needed, she actually gave me several options and treated me like a person. I opted for the cortisone injection but told her my fear first which she simply acknowledged. She explained everything that she was going to do and what she was going to use before she did it. Before I knew it, she was done ( it was like an immunization injection). She suggested home exercises which I agreed to along with ice and heat therapy. She was great! I would definitely go back to her if I ever needed to.
