I was referred directly to Dr. Picken (from Medstar doctor) for a "consultation" to solve my sinus issues. Dr. Picken asked me a few questions and then examined my sinuses with a scope. She then confirmed what I already knew, I am congested. She suggested I get a CT scan immediately and referred me to another group. Upon leaving her office, the front desk said they did not know the billing codes for my appointment. I have BlueCross BlueShield and I confirmed with another ENT after seeing Dr. Picken that they always know the codes for major insurance providers. So that was odd and I later found similar reviews. I received a bill a few weeks later for almost $600. Dr. Picken had not explained to me that looking in my sinuses was not part of the consultation and was a separate, $300 test. The speed at which the Medstar doctors referred me to one another was alarming. It seems like they have a mill going on here. Also weird she only has 1 and 5 star ratings. Nothing in the middle.
