This doctor always seemed to be judging me. I was a single mom over 35 with a high risk twin pregnancy. I had a significant bleed in the second trimester, was having a ton of contractions, asked to see high risk ob/gyn and was denied. Asked for work restrictions due to complications and was refused, with her citing a blanket “no bed rest policy.” I had my twins at 28 weeks and was lectured in the hospital about how I can’t control things like premature labor (similar to how she couldn’t control that her kids were not the height that she had hoped). Every visit I had, I felt that I was being judged. I also have heard of so many twin moms being put on bed rest and making it farther into their pregnancies than I did. It may not have helped, but I wasn’t even given a chance and to this day, I have many regrets for not switching or demanding better. My kids are doing great considering, but it was a very traumatic experience.
