I have been going to this office for a couple of years now. At first I had a good experience, however when I was having constipation issues I was being treated by a PA. After trying a couple of different medications that did not work they sent me for a test at Stony Brook. I knew I failed the test so when I made the follow-up appointment to obtain the test results I specifically asked to been seen by Dr. Albert. Today when I got to the office I was put in a room and told I was being seen by a PA I never met with before. I told the staffer that I specifically asked to been seen by Dr. Albert and she said that the PA will be in. When the PA came in I told her that I asked to been seen by Dr. Albert and she said that the appointment was for a PA. She went over the test results with me and told me the recommendation was for Physical Therapy. I told her I can't afford PT and wanted to know what my options were. She told me to go online to find exercises to do. I just didn't know what to say. I told her there had to be other options and she said she would speak with the doctor and left. Another staffer came back and told me that Dr. Albert was not in until 11:45 and that I would have to come back. I just left after that. When I got home I called the office to get my $65 co-pay back since I made the appointment to see Dr. Albert and was not seen by Dr. Albert. I was told no and that I was told by the office I was being seen by a PA when the appointment was made. I said not true because I knew I failed the test and wanted to know what options the doctor would recommend. If I agreed to be seen by a PA why wouldn't I have asked to be seen by the PA that has been seeing me for almost a year. The woman told me I was being rude and would not listen to what I had to say. What she failed to recognize was that I was not being rude but very upset by the whole situation. After living with my condition for a year and the end result was to be told to go online to get exercises was beyond frustrating. This office pushes PA's on you. I will be finding another office that actually has doctors that you can see.
