I brought my daughter to Dr. Batra’s office because she was having a mental health emergency. Dr. Batra noted she’d lost weight and told her she needed to eat 3 meals a day. Part of my daughter’s mental health crisis involved a complete lack of appetite. We shared that we were having trouble getting an appointment with a psychiatrist and Dr. Batra suggested that if we’d started trying sooner our daughter would have the help she needs now . Our Daughter was only recently willing to speak to a therapist. We left Dr. Batra’s office directionless. I do understand she’s a pediatrician and not a psychiatrist but was surprised at her blasé and insensitive treatment. Dr Batra has been great for check ups. Her bedside manner when we really needed help urgently was entirely absent.
