I came to the ER for dizziness, right sided numbness and uncontrollable tremors. I almost fainted and had a hard time speaking. The doctor didn’t acknowledge me or ask about my symptoms. She told the nurses that it was anxiety and later on said I had a uti. I am 32 year old woman. I’m tired of my complaints being dismissed because of my age and gender. Seven months later I came back to the ER for similar symptoms again on the right side of my body. It was a stroke. Had this doctor taken my complaints seriously, this outcome likely could’ve been avoided. They later discovered that I have a heart defect that probably caused the stroke.
