My husband and I moved to Florida a little over two-weeks ago, he has been to the ER 4 times, Urgent care once, and it seemed nobody cared about treating his INTENSE stomach pain made worse by eating. My husband is a 4 time childhood Cancer survivor and one of the side effects is difficulty keeping on weight. He can’t see his new general physician for 2-weeks. He simply couldn’t go 2-weeks without food and the pain after eating was such a deterrent. Even a Boost drink or a simple orange set his pain to a level 7 or higher. Dr. Purcell prescribed some medication to coat his stomach and allow him to eat until we can get to the root of the problem. My husband came home from Dr. Purcell’s care and said “for the first time in weeks, I feel encouraged.” I cried. The pain and lack of food was really diminishing my husband’s quality of life. I’m so grateful for Dr. Purcell and his willingness to prescribe something to help and not just discharge a clearly, suffering man.
