Never got to see Dr. Ross after 8 days dealing with his staff. Before leaving Las Vegas where I winter, I had an angioplasty to clear blockage in main artery of my leg. During the procedure the artery burst and I developed a huge hematoma which eventually resolved itself except for the scrotum which remains hard and painful. As i was coming to Maine for 5 months, the surgeon suggested I see a urologist in Maine. Based on patient reviews, I contacted Dr. Ross’ office on July 1. Was told I would need a referral. I said I would have my surgeon send the referral and his notes. His staff member gave me the fax number which I then provided my surgeon in Las Vegas. When I called Ross’s office the next day to see if they received the fax, I was told they didn’t know!Then this staff member asked what fax number I was given. Turns out it was the wrong number I had been given the day before! She then gave me the correct number. Called my surgeon’s office again and asked them to re-send everything again and later that day, the surgeon’s office called me to say they had faxed the referral and doctor’s notes to Dr. Ross office. It is now July 8 and despite daily phone calls to Ross’s office to confirm if they received the fax and if I could get an appointment, I have heard nothing despite promises of a return call. I am 77 years old and have dealt with many doctors but never encountered such red tape and incompetence ( you don’t know your fax number? Unbelievable!). If Dr. Ross should see this, I suggest he may want to assess his staff and structure. Meanwhile, after wasting 8 days, my condition and discomfort continues and I must now start the quest for a urologist with competent staff and easier access to an appointment.
