Our experience with Dr. Phemister was very disappointing. He turned a difficult labor into a traumatizing labor with a guilt-ridden and vindictive attitude towards me and the decisions I made over the course of labor, even though I followed recommendations given. His condescending tone made me extremely uncomfortable and like I was extremely small. I have never experienced a doctor who lacked such compassion and sensitivity. He lectured me even as I lay on the labor bed feeling exhausted and unwell after many hours of labor. It was absolutely unnecessary and flat out...mean. His comments about my doula and me wanting support during labor were also extremely uncalled for and disrespectful. Thank you, Dr. Phemister, for adding trauma to an already hard labor experience.
