Dr. Wechter is an amazing surgeon. Sure - she's very linear and focused, some might find her interaction a bit cold. Ultimately, you don't want her to be your friend. You want her to perform life saving surgery in a manner that has the least impact on your ongoing life (confidence, body image, etc). She removed a very large tumor that was in an extremely challenging position. Going in, I was worried about the possibility of having disfiguring scars for the rest of my life (reasonable given the particulars of my case). Dr. Wechter's approach addressed my medical need (get that tumor completely out of me!) AND left no scars on my chest (zero wardrobe, and virtually no personal impact). Other surgeons would likely have given me a full mastectomy. Dr. Wechter understands how important it is to feel like a woman - particularly when being treated for breast cancer.
