In 2009 I went unconscious at work. I was in Mercy Hospital for 9 days and was displeased with the electro physiologist and cardiologist there. When out of the hospital he was trying to force me to take orally Amioderone when I was throwing it up and he hung up on me when I refused to take it anymore. I talked to my neighbor in Poway a nurse at Scripps who recommended Dr. Anil Patel a cardiologist. Dr. Patel had them put in a Defibrillator in 2009. He sent me to Dr. Gibson who did an ablation in 2009 on the inside of my heart and an ablation on the outside of my heart in 2010 where the problem was found. No one knew why a long distance runner for 30 years and a long distance cyclist for 7 years would have a heart problem. Dr. Gibson after many tests had been done had a genetic test done on me and it was determined I had ARVC. His persistence on figuring out what was wrong saved my life!
