I accompanied my Mother on a visit to Colonial Urgent Medical Care on July 16, 2024 because of a cough. Our wait was 45 minutes or more in the waiting room. Another patient was called to be seen who came in long after we did. I asked the receptionist when would my Mother be called back when she responded that she would be called in a few minutes. Another patient was then called before her again, then they called her back. She was advised that she would need an X-ray of her chest. Later we were taken to an examination room where we waited until the she could be seen by a doctor. Dr Edward Myers entered the examination room without a courtesy of a knock on the closed door. He looked at me and said out loud, “looking at me from the corner of your eyes like I am suspicious”. I was rather bewildered as to why he said what he said and who he was talking about! Then he immediately proceeded to say to my Mother that her aorta is crooked. Then said, “well that’s not why you are here”. He proceeded to then tell her that her chest x-ray is clear and gave her instructions on what the course of treatment would be. My complaint is regarding this doctor’s unprofessional attitude towards me and my Mother. I intend to take this further as I am sure this type of behavior should not be tolerated. I felt attacked and offended. Patients deserve to be treated with respect and compassion. This was an unprovoked event!
