Highly skilled oncologist who puts heart and soul into the care she delivers! I had a highly unusual disease progression from an already rare cancer, and was very lucky to find my way into Dr. Pelkofski's care. She was thorough in her monitoring of my symptoms and blood work, and has rightly earned a reputation amongst her colleagues for being the most thorough in the department. When my disease progressed unusually, she knew how to identify the need for outside expertise/consultation, and actively sought outside consult with an overseas expert, a clinical decision that saved my life. Dr. Pelkofski treated me with human warmth and care, and took interest in me as a whole person, often asking first about my quality of life and relationships before turning to the strictly medical topics. When my cancer came back, she took my symptoms seriously when other physicians in her practice were less alarmed; as a result, we found the cancer the second time around faster than we may have otherwise. She advocated for me within an often difficult-to-navigate hospital system, and provided a robust and incontestable peer-to-peer review when my health insurance company attempted to prevent me from accessing an important imaging procedure. I have seen many doctors - she is a rare gem of skill, expertise, humility, and humanity; it is clear that she is deeply dedicated to her work, and I am deeply grateful to her for her excellent care.

I would highly recommend Dr. Pelkofski as a surgeon, but would not recommend her at all as an Oncologist.
