Dr. Dela Torre was my primary care physician for many years. It wasn't until moving and going to a new practice until I realize how impactful not having the right doctor can be on your life. Dr. Dela Torre consistently chalked up any health issues I had to the fact that I had some weight to lose about 20-25 pounds, nothing crazy. She would tell me to lay off of fried food (I do not even eat it) and to exercise despite my telling her I already do when I came in not feeling well. I hope she takes patients without her ideal BMI's health concerns seriously (people can be both need to lose weight and have a medical condition, in my case even one that prevents you from losing weight). I am under the care of a new doctor who took my concerns seriously, referred me to the appropriate doctors and helped me receive a diagnosis. PLEASE advocate for yourself.
