One of the worst experiences of my IVF journey. We'll ignore the administration issues, and just focus on the experience with the Dr. We presented the dr with why we were there (second opinion for borderline issues) and what we were looking for (what protocols and what could be done differently than previous cycles). Instead of addressing that, she spent half the time lecturing on insurance and finances (even after we shared that was no issue) and the second half belaboring why we should go donor ("the goal is transfer, you'll never regret a donor baby" "we're just here to get you to transfer") and that our previous thoughts regarding donor were wrong. We shared we were not interested in donor at this time, and she said "I guess we could try again." There was no discussion around protocols or science, or what options were available to us. She seemed disinterested in our case, unless we went donor. Her bedside manner was terrible. Much of the discussion was extremely insensitive and showed she lacks awareness of the patient population she works with and needs of her patients. From her lack of listening to what we said, there is no way we could trust her with another cycle as it was obvious she had her own agenda and was not really listening to what we said. The discussion made it clear that Boston IVF does not have the technology, science background, or experience for my case, whereas other clinics do. Would recommend at least talking to CCRM and other clinics before seeing this dr. Perhaps consider another dr in the clinic. Perhaps she was having a bad day, however, do better. Learn about how to speak regarding these issues to prevent making an already terrible situation worse.
