I came to the ER with several concerning symptoms, expecting to be evaluated and taken seriously. Unfortunately, Dr. Petersen was dismissive and condescending throughout my visit. He did little to assess my condition, made a comment about how it’s “hard to be a woman,” and brushed off my concerns. He told me I was fine and discharged me—yet my discharge paperwork said to return to the ER if I experienced the exact same symptoms.
