I went to Dr. Kellum’s Orthopedics Clinic 6 months ago for wrist pain. I was referred there by my boss. They sent me to get an X-Ray. I kinda liked it that they said they are not about doing surgery and they can fix the problem with stem cell shots. I was convinced that this is it; because I had a steroid shot before.Dr. Kellum said he does not recommend steroid shots because they will destroy the tissues. They gave me Platelet Rich Plasma which cost around $3000. The pain from 5-6 injections was severe and I threw up during the procedure and almost passed out. They did not give me any anesthesia.After I was done, I did not receive any paperwork, nor any calls to check on my status. According to my boss, he did receive a follow-up call. They told me it takes 6 weeks to get better. After 6 weeks, the follow up appointment which was with the Nurse, and She said it would be 3 more months until it got better. The pain was still there and I had the pain from the shots added to it as well.After the 6th month, I made another appointment because of the pain. I was struggling to do basic routines and the pain was getting worse. They did not give me the appointment to see Dr. Kellum. I saw the nurse again. While I was sitting in the waiting room, I noticed that the staff were showing me to each other with eyes rolling, kinda got suspicious. I wondered what they knew that I didn’t. I saw a patient who finished his treatment came out to the desk. They were talking to him and giving him his paperwork, which did not happen to me. The nurse examined my hand and said "I have been in this business for 25 years and this is definitely a “Ganglion Cyst”. They arranged for me to have an MRI so they could treat the cyst. I had an MRI. I decided to get a second opinion and made an appointment at the Bone and Joint Clinic with a surgeon specialist. He looked at the same X-Ray that I got 6 months ago and my new MRI. According to this doctor "They knew what you had, but they could not fix it.” He said I had a bone injury and needed surgery to fix it. Dr. Kellum let me live with the pain in my wrist for 6 months. Dr. Ethan Kellum gave me an unnecessary expensive treatment and was going to do the same thing over again. Why? This place does not care about your health. Before you let them inject you, get another doctor’s opinion. If you ask me, DO NOT TRUST THIS PRACTICE! Even for stem cell shots, go somewhere else.
