Patient Reviews
May 09, 2025
I was very disappointed with my experience with Dr. Garner. He did not offer any solutions or advice despite my history of severe, long-term depression and having been on medications for nearly 70 years. He stated I wasn’t a good candidate for ECT without a thorough consultation, and incorrectly assumed on his discharge notes that I didn’t have a psychiatrist—when I absolutely do. He also noted that I wasn’t accepted back into the psychiatric unit without discussing this with me or involving my family. It felt like he didn’t care about me as a patient. The mental health care system is already incredibly hard to navigate, with limited resources, and Dr. Garner did nothing to make the process easier or more supportive. I left feeling dismissed, hopeless, and without a clear path forward.
