Dr. Ferdousy prescribed an antibiotic while I was in the hospital. I researched why I was having unbearable pain in both legs from my Achilles tendons up to my calf muscles. It is well known that this drug can absolutely cause Achilles tendon and calf muscle problems. It is a known, serious, FDA-warned adverse effect of fluoroquinolone antibiotics. Dr. Ferdousy failed to inform me of this side effect. Currently, I am in excruciating pain when I walk and I’m not able to do anything that requires standing, walking, lifting, walking my dogs, without pain and risking a complete rupture of my Achilles tendons. In my opinion, this all could have been avoided had she taken the time to explain the risks associated with medications she prescribed. I am also disappointed that she has chosen to ignore my phone calls and has not bothered to call me back.
