My doctor was Farzin Rashti. Went to him last march. Did stool test, blood test. Keep saying EPI. Tried medications didnt work just made condition worse. Scheduled for a colonoscopy and endoscopy. During the procedure, They only used a forehead thermometer (no ear or oral option), and since the room and weather were hot, it incorrectly showed I had a fever. I asked them for an ear and oral option and they said they don’t have it. Yet they will charge you 100s of dollars for equipment they have used. I was charged hundreds of dollars despite them being unable to get an accurate reading, which forced me to reschedule my endoscopy for a month later. The front desk said the virtual follow-up wouldn’t require a co-pay, but I was still charged. A virtual follow up requires a co pay are you kidding me , everything in that follow up could have been in an email. I also had to pay another co-pay for the endoscopy, even though the initial issue was due to their inaccurate temperature reading. got results back from endoscopy, said I had gastritis. Had to pay another co pay for this follow up. Told me to take ppi(did not say how long, any side effects, any possibility of SIBO, any possibility of a rebound affect). Just said “generally well tolerated” Worked well for a few weeks but caused twitching. He said "I dont know" well it is because I am nutrient deficient because it reduces stomach acid so ur body is not able to absorb as many nutrients. Something I found out from doing my own research and not being told by him. Decided to take psylum husk which was the only thing that helped. And the only thing that I thought of. Had I just done this before meeting him I probably would be fine. When I got off the Ppi I started feeling very nauseous. Then a flare up happened a few months later and I suspected I had sibo but I had to wait a month before seeing the doctor and they wouldn’t even order a test. They only ordered it after I saw them a month later. But was already taking Ppi again, and I did not know that that can make sibo worse because no one ever told me. Something I found out form doing my own research and not told by him. Now my condition is much worse. I have lost 20+ pounds, feel nauseous, watery poop. My question is why did he never check for sibo a year ago. Also 50+ minute wait time to then go to the appointment rushed and barely have time to asked any questions. I’m done with going to Gastros.
