I started out with a simple cataract that ended in a disaster due to a misjudgement by Dr. Temnycky. The doc used a toric lens by Alcon for astigmatism. During the surgery it was discovered that I had broken zonules which contra-indicated the use of the toric lens. The Doc proceeded anyway by using a tension ring to stabilize the toric lens. I was later told by the manufacturer, Alcon, that using the toric lens with broken zonules was an incorrect off-label use. Shortly after, the entire mechanism fell out and I had to have emergency surgery. I believe Doctor Temnycky took shortcuts and should have stopped the procedure when the broken zonules were discovered, but he did not and I suffered the consequences.
