Dr. Hobby is the reason my mom is stuck in the hospital for a 3rd consecutive day. She came in with low sugar (120). Despite not being considered an emergency, she was admitted for observations and due to having no other beds available, she was put in ICU. She wasn't given any meds to boost sodium, but within 6 hours her sodium level came up on its own to a nearly normal range and Dr. Hobby flooded mom's system with sugar water to dilute the sodium level and as a result, her sodium level crashed to the same level she had entered the hospital with. To overcome his mistake, he then put sodium through an IV to boost it up again. Now, after 48 hours in the ICU, she is having to be observed now an additional 24 hours to make sure her sodium doesn't go too high. So that is 72 hours they get to bill her and her insurance, when she should have been discharged after 24 hours.
