Patient Reviews

The Nightmare My former Rheumatologist retired and she referred me here. Dr. Samakur was a hour late for an early morning appointment. She prescribed blood tests every 6 months which is a big flag. I have been on a powerful immunosuppressant for over 15 years and my last two Rheumatologists made sure to test every 3 months, as is industry practice for this type of medicine. If your blood work becomes "out-of-wack", you need to know quickly. Of course, they did the initial blood test that day. A month later I realized I had received no feedback from the initial blood test. I didn't know whether it had even been reviewed. I tried to contact her using the portal, but she is not listed on the portal. I sent a message to one of the owners, Dr. Parris, via the portal and never received a response. So, the portal is useless for communication with the doctor. I left numerous messages with various people that eventually answered the phone. I could not leave a voice mail, since it was full. I even tried to interpret the blood work results myself using Google, unsuccessfully. After days of this nonsense, I decided to collect my medical records and scheduled my next appointment with another organization. By the way, I never spoke to Dr. Samakur or her assistant. My attempts at a phone consultation were ignored. I can only assume that their "business before patients" attitude will permeate their practice since there is now a tremendous shortage of Rheumatologists. Therefore, it really doesn't matter how many negative reviews they receive, there will always be an endless supply of new patients available. But if this review can save one person from the nightmare called Parris and Associates, I feel like my time was well spent writing this.

This office purchased the practice of Dr Smitherman of Roswell. We were assured the transition would be smooth and our records would be transferred. I have not been able to get a call back for a medication refill. I left two messages with the answering service and on their internal voice mail. I’m at a loss. How can we keep our immune disease in check when there is no one to help you. This could be very dangerous for patients. This happened the week of Dec 20 and Dec 13. I am amazed at the disorganization and lack of respect for the patients of the purchased practices. I would not recommend this practice. If the office is poorly managed, what does that say about the dr?
