I saw her for over a year, and I don't think why I stayed that long. She diagnosed me with bipolar but wouldn't explain it at all. She wouldn't explain any of the medications she prescribed me or inform me of possible side effects. She was very condescending. She got mad and acted like I was stupid if I asked questions or asked her to explain something. She also didn't care at all when my meds weren't working. She didn't care that I was still suicidal and so depressed I couldn't function. She just talked down to me and told me I expected too much from medication, all because I didn't want to be suicidal and too depressed to function anymore. After I educated myself on bipolar, I talked to her about my then current symptoms. She didn't even recognize that I was going into a hypomanic phase. But somehow, she's specialized in mental illness...? Do yourself a favor and don't go to her. She'll only make you worse.
