I was hospitalized in an IN NETWORK facility per BCBS. SIX MONTHS afterwards, I received a bill for OUT OF NETWORK charges from Dr. Farela, whom I had NEVER heard of. I called the hospital and my PCP. No one had heard of him, either. Supposedly, this is a 'hospitalist' who accepts NO insurance of any kind but works in a hospital that is IN NETWORK and a patient has NO CHOICE in this matter and is billed for these huge out of network charges even though they are in an in network facility. Outrageous.
