when you call to make an appointment, you don't reach out directly to the office. You are calling the answering service/ call center. And people in call center are rude and in a bad mood all the time. Because nobody knows who is on the other side of the line, they don't give out their names and simply hangup. Even their automated service directs you to ask the representative name. I wonder why! Don't doctors care how their potential patients are being approached? At the very least, it is them - the doctor's office - who hired such unprofessional call and answering services.
