First meeting with my son (previously with a nurse practitioner who started my son on semaglutide) and she spent zero time really listening to him or asking any questions other than 'what are you eating' because he had gained a small amount of weight. Had she taken any time to actually engage with him she would have heard that his summer sport had ended and he was looking for a new outlet for exercise, his medication dose was not increased as it should have been due to no available appointments at Children's for months (they won't increase unless you come in and then they can't ever get you in) and other things that would have shed light on his situation. He was not treated as an individual at all - just numbers on a page. Was told he failed and he left feeling more defeated than ever. He was literally fat shamed in his very first conversation with her. Bedside manner is awful-cold. Said 'I'm not increasing your meds (following the pharmaceutical schedule for success) good luck'.
